スマトラ島の密林の奥地に存在する滝の近くのみに生息する非常に特徴的な容姿のホマロメナの一種。葉の縁取りはオレンジ色の羽に覆われ、葉表面は鮫肌に似た細かい凹凸があります。This species of Homalomena has a very distinctive appearance and grows only near waterfalls in the deep jungles of Sumatra. The edges of the leaves are covered with orange feathers and the surface has fine bumps that resemble shark skin.

スマトラ島の熱帯雨林の中にある自然の滝の近くにだけ生息する大型のホマロメナ属の一種を野生下で撮影した写真。 This wild photograph shows a large species of Homalomena found only near natural waterfalls in the tropical rainforests of Sumatra.

限られた特殊な一地点のみで見られた大型種です。
100m以上の垂直岩盤に覆われて外界と隔絶された大規模な滝壺の様なエリアで発見しました。かなりの特殊環境で岩の隙間をには大小様々な滝が連続し、エリア全体は乾季でもずっと濡れている状況でした。
そんな不思議な空間の遙か上の方の太陽光が当たる地点に自生しています。
葉の縁のフリル状の羽は既知のどの種類よりも分厚くて、葉が成熟するとオレンジ色に変わります。
